Kyagwe, in Mukono District, lies at the heart of the historic Buganda Kingdom—a region rich in culture, resilience, and community spirit.
Growing up here, I witnessed how poverty, limited educational opportunities, and unequal access to healthcare can constrain the potential of many talented young people. I was fortunate to pursue education to the PhD level, guided by my mother and supported by our community. That journey taught me a lesson I carry every day: when one child thrives, the entire community thrives.
The Nagalaale Foundation was created to translate this belief into practical action. Our work focuses on strengthening the systems that allow communities to flourish—health services that support well-being, education that expands opportunity, agriculture that strengthens livelihoods, and enterprise initiatives that generate sustainable economic activity.
Rather than addressing these challenges separately, the Foundation operates through an integrated ecosystem where programs reinforce one another and contribute to broader community development.
Guided by the spirit of Ubuntu — “I am because we are” — and a deep commitment to the people of Kyagwe, Nagalaale works with local leaders, professionals, and partners to build institutions that serve present and future generations.
The Foundation is ultimately community-driven. It reflects the ideas, aspirations, and energy of the people who live and work here.
We invite you to join us in strengthening communities, celebrating heritage, and expanding opportunities for the future.
