Who We Are
Nagalaale Foundation is a community-rooted initiative based in Kayini Parish in Mukono District, Uganda. The Foundation is focused on catalyzing community self-led initiatives aimed at uplifting livelihood standards through maximizing the available resources within communities. The charity achieves this through nurturing individual potential and triggering community endeavors for the common good. It is built on the profound African philosophy of communality – “I am because we are; and we are because I am” – and embodies the spirit of self-led development. It is committed to nurturing individual potential and sparking community endeavors for the common good.
Founded in 2020, Nagalaale Foundation is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee with Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB); and registered as Community-Based Organization (CBO) with Mukono District Local Government.
Our Vision
An empowered community where social well-being is realized for all.
Our Mission
To promote transformative, community-based initiatives that enhance access to quality social services, strengthen livelihoods, and foster inclusive well-being.
Our Strategic Direction: 2025 to 2030
Nagalaale Foundation’s strategic direction is guided by the recognition that community challenges are interconnected. Health outcomes are influenced by livelihoods and food security, education shapes opportunity, and local enterprise strengthens resilience. In response, the Foundation advances an integrated development model that connects health services, vocational education, agriculture, and enterprise within a coordinated ecosystem.
The Foundation’s work is organized around four mutually reinforcing program areas:
• Community Tourism & Hospitality
• Education & Skilling
• Community Health & Wellbeing
• Community Farm & Agro-Enterprise
